I just returned from my first mission trip to Guatemala, where our team built a small home for a family whose resilience humbled us daily. Hammering in the hot sun, watching walls rise, and handing over the keys reminded me that stability can start with four sturdy walls and a roof—but it reaches far beyond them.

What struck me most were the Guatemalan people. Despite limited resources, they opened their homes, shared meals, and radiated gratitude that eclipsed language barriers. Their warmth taught me that true wealth is measured in community, not possessions.

I’m equally grateful for my team—strangers turned family—who poured heart, muscle, and laughter into every brick. Together we discovered that service is less about what you give and more about who you become.

None of it would’ve been possible without the hand of God over us. He moved powerfully through every moment—guiding our work, strengthening our bonds, and filling our hearts with purpose. His presence was felt in the laughter, the prayers, and the quiet moments of connection. We went to serve, but God used this trip to transform all of us in ways we never expected.

I left Guatemala changed: lighter in spirit, richer in perspective, and deeply grateful for the way God shows up when we step out in faith.
